FC Barcelona: Previewing the UEFA Champions League Draw

With the UEFA Champions League group stage draw just hours away, let us know which teams you would like to see paired with FC Barcelona

Laurence Griffiths

This evening, FC Barcelona will discover their 2014-15 UEFA Champions League fate, as the group stage draw for this year’s edition of the world’s premier club competition is held in Monaco. Tonight, we will also find out the winner of the 2013/2014 UEFA Best Player in Europe award, as for the first-time ever, Barça do not have a representative amongst the final three nominees. Instead, Bayern Munich stars, Manuel Neuer and Arjen Robben will contend with Real Madrid superstar and runaway favourite, Cristiano Ronaldo.

So, with that, the Blaugrana’s attention turns solely to the draw at hand, as Luis Enrique’s side will hope, where possible, to avoid a "group of death" scenario which could see them drawn in a group for example with French champions, Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Serie A runners-up, AS Roma.

Recent editions have typically paired the Blaugrana with at least one "strong" team, and in every instance Barça have emerged victorious, but with their eyes on the prize both on a domestic and continental front, Barcelona will be keeping their fingers crossed for as straight-forward a draw as possible.

In anticipation of this evening’s draw, we want your opinion Culés: just who would you like to see FC Barcelona draw tonight, and why? Take a look at the three remaining pots below and let us know your preferred opponents (teams in bold cannot be drawn).
