FC Barcelona has a tough road in the first month of the season.
The LFP, or the Spanish League, has officially announced the schedule of their September matches for all teams, including Barça. Because of the FIFA dates at the beginning of the month, the Blaugrana will only play at the second half of the month, and there's a tough road ahead. Not really in terms of the competition, but the tightness of the schedule. Barça will play six games in a span of seventeen days, a real test for the strength of this squad, since coach Luis Enrique will need to rotate the roster to avoid early injuries.
Among the september games is Barça's debut in the UEFA Champions League, against APOEL at Camp Nou, and the anticipated encounter with PSG. Here's Barça schedule:
La Liga - Jornada 3 |
Sept. 13 - 16:00* |
Athletic Bilbao |
Camp Nou |
UCL - Matchday 1 | Sept. 17 - 20:45 | APOEL Nicosia | Camp Nou |
La Liga - Jornada 4 | Sept. 21 - 21:00 | Levante | Ciutat de València Stadium |
La Liga - Jornada 5 | Sept. 24 - 22:00 | Málaga | La Rosaleda Stadium |
La Liga - Jornada 6 | Sept. 27 - 18:00 | Granada | Camp Nou |
UCL - Matchday 2 | Sept. 30 - 20:45 | Paris Saint-Germain | Parc des Princes |
*All times CET
Let's hope Barça gets through that difficult span with six good wins, and everybody is well mentally and physically for October and the rest of the season.
But, before all that, Barcelona has a trip to El Madrigal to take on Villarreal on Sunday. Follow all the action here at BB. Vamos Barça!
