Martín Montoya Leaves Friendly with Ankle Injury

Hopefully, it's nothing serious.

The shocking draw against Nice wasn't the only bad news Barcelona had on Saturday.

Martín Montoya, the favorite to be Barça's new right back following the likely departure of Dani Alves, left the friendly at the end of the first half, after he couldn't sustain an injury that happened a few minutes earlier. Montoya challenged a play and his foot got stuck in the ground, hurting his right ankle.

Barcelona's Twitter announced that new tests will be done to see how big the issue is:

Montoya was replaced by Barça B's Patric, who did a decent enough job to cover the position. He's not a long term answer, though. We hope there's nothing serious with Montoya.
