FC Barcelona B vs CE Sabadell FC Match Review

Barça got a very good win.

Valerio Pennicino

Good Saturday for the little Culés, as Barça B got the best of Sabadell in a Catalunya derby for the Jornada 2 of Liga Adelante, Spain's second division. The mini-Blaugrana won 3-1 at the Mini Camp Nou.

But the team had to bounce back. Despite a very good start, in which they dominated the posession and had good pace, Barça B showed their usual defensive mistakes in the 9th minute, when Kiko Olivas found himself free in front of the goal, putting Sabadell ahead with a header following a corner-kick from the right side.

Two minutes later, Olivas would appear again, this time committing a penalty on Dongou that got him sent off. However, Dongou missed the PK, hitting the bar. Barça increased their level of intensity and dominated the match even more, and they got their reward after another penalty, this time on Joan Román. Barça B's number 10 was calm and confident, and dislocated the goalkeeper to score the equalizer ten minutes before halftime.

Coming back from the locker room, Eusebio Sacristán's side kept pressing the rivals, with important passes by Alen Halilovic, who bounced back from a not so good game the week before to a very impressive showing, controlling the pace and delivering accurate passes all around the pitch during his 74-minute performance. Three minutes after Alen was subbed off, Barça finally went ahead, after a fantastic team play resulted in Patric assisting Doungou, and the striker didn't miss this time. 2-1 Barça B.

There was still be time left to another goal, and it happened in impressive fashion. Adama Traoré came up with one of his insane runs through the defense. After clearing up the right side, Adama gave the ball to Dongou, who showed enough composure to find the back of the net and guarantee Barça B's first win in Liga Adelante.

The mini-Culés take the field next Sunday, as they welcome Zaragoza to Barcelona for Jornada 3. As of right now, they'll enjoy a very good win. Let's hope they keep it up.
