Injury Report: Thomas Vermaelen given medical green light, Douglas goes down with fever

New, comments

Buuuuuuuuut Vermaelen's injured again. No, just kidding.

David Ramos

Say it, Rock!

I know you were waiting for this. You got it. THOMAS VERMAELEN IS FIT! HE IS FIT! YES!

What, Rock? Oh yeah, FIIIIIIIIIINALLY!!!!!!!!

I know, I know. It's kind of hard to believe, but don't take my word for it:

The Barça first team returned to training on Thursday morning after drawing 0-0 with Malaga the night before, and there was good news waiting for Luis Enrique. New signing Thomas Vermaelen has been declared fully recovered from the hamstring injury that has kept him side-lined since playing for Belgium at the Brazil World Cup.

Now to less exciting news. After an underwhelming debut as a Blaugrana, Douglas Pereira did not take part in the training session this morning. He has fever. Yes, fever. It might be all the heat he's getting.

Jordi Masip, our third goalkeeper, keeps on recovering from a finger fracture. He should be available in two weeks.

But I know you're still excited about the first report. I'm sorry, Rock is so excited about it he can't stop. Go ahead, Rock!

Vermaelen should be available for Barcelona's next match, against Granada on Saturday. Since Luis Enrique is rotating the squad, there's a good chance we see Thomas playing!
