First Andoni Zubizarreta was fired, now this. Josep Maria Bartomeu, Barcelona's current president, has agreed to hold elections for his post at the end of the season.

Bartomeu, who took over for Sandro Rosell when the latter resigned, will run as one of the candidates. The other candidates as of now are Jordi Farre and Agusti Benedito.

Former president Joan Laporta is many fans and commentators' first choice to succeed Bartomeu. His candidacy is not formal yet.

Laporta has been rumored to want to return to the presidency for a while now. Goal.com says he would want to bring Pep Guardiola back to the fold.
