Barcelona's 5-2 win against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday night was all about Neymar Jr. The Brazilian superstar had a truly phenomenal performance, scoring four goals and assisting another in what was one of his greatest games, not only as a Blaugrana, but in his whole career.
At least for one night, Culés didn't miss the brilliance of Lionel Messi, and they witnessed a historically brilliant game from a Neymar that destroyed Rayo's defense and won the game by himself. Speaking to the media after the final whistle, he put Saturday's performance in perspective, and will remember it as one of his finest.
He also talked about his two goals coming from penalty-kicks, which were very precisely taken. While he didn't want to give away any secrets for the success of those spot shots, he did reveal he does plenty of practicing with Barça's goalkeepers. Here's a few highlights of his quotes.
"It was one of the best matches of my Barça career. I'm very very happy for the goals, for the win and for the way we did things. Congratulations to all my teammates for a very good win.
I cannot explain how I do things, it would give away clues (laughs). Everything is born from practicing many times with Bravo, Marc [Ter Stegen] and Jordi [Masip].
"All teams and rivals are complicated. I commend Rayo for the shock they gave us. We all worked well and ensured the points stayed at home. I am very happy with the victory and the way we played. Rayo are a great team and we struggled to play them."
