La Liga News: 4 October 2015; Gareth Bale to Return for Real Madrid, Malaga Win First Game of the Season

James misses Madrid derby but Ramos and Bale fit - ESPN FC
Real Madrid will be without James Rodriguez for Sunday's derby with Atletico Madrid, but Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale are available. Marca had reported this week that James was recovering from his thigh injury ahead of schedule and would be back for the derby, but he was absent from the team's final training session ahead of the trip to the Vicente Calderon.

Malaga 3-1 Real Sociedad - ESPN FC
Malaga have beaten Real Sociedad 3-1 to end their goal drought and increase the pressure on La Real manager David Moyes. They had set a record by becoming the first time in Liga history not to score in their opening six fixtures but a hat-trick for striker Charles Dias de Oliveira finally gave their season a sense of momentum.

Granada 1-1 Deportivo La Coruña - ESPN FC
A second-half equaliser from Piti rescued a point for Granada and denied Deportivo La Coruna a third straight Primera Division win. The forward's 65th-minute strike cancelled out Fayal Fayr's goal midway through the first half to give the Andalusians their first point in five matches, lifting them off the foot of the table for 24 hours at least.

Castro leads Betis to 2-0 win at Rayo in Spanish league
Striker Ruben Castro set up one goal before scoring another to help Real Betis beat Rayo Vallecano 2-0 Sunday in the Spanish league, its first win at Vallecas Stadium since the 1999-2000 season. German defender Heiko Westerman worked a one-two combination with Castro to open the scoring in the 20th minute.

Menendez's late winner earns Sporting Gijon victory - ESPN FC
A last-gasp winner from Alex Menendez saw Sporting Gijon beat Espanyol 2-1 and pick up their second win of the season. The winger restored the visitors' lead in stoppage time after Felipe Caicedo had cancelled out Alen Halilovic's first-half wonder-goal, taking Sporting up to 10th place in the Primera Division table, just one point behind the Catalans.

Las Palmas 0-2 Eibar - ESPN FC
Borja Baston scored for the fourth time in three Primera Division matches as Eibar defeated Las Palmas 2-0 at Estadio de Gran Canaria. The visitors moved seventh in the table after ending a five-game winless streak, Saul Berjon getting the ball rolling in the seventh minute before Baston's wonderful second-half effort.
