It's been a long week right? Sure, the UEFA Champions League is back in name, but probably not in excitement if this week's matches were anything to go by. Instead, the time really dragged without FC Barcelona in action, something that will be remedied today as the Blaugrana return to action against Malaga in La Liga.
With less than six hours until kick-off, Luis Enrique has announced the squad for today's match and there were few surprises. Douglas and Thomas Vermaelen continue to miss out through injury, while usual drop-outs, Jordi Masip, Sergi Roberto and Martin Montoya will be watching the match from the stands. Andres Iniesta returns after his illness ruled him out last weekend against Levante, but there is no room in the squad for either Munir el Haddadi or Sandro Ramirez, both of whom joined the first team in training this week.
These are the eighteen men named by Lucho for the match:
Goalkeepers: 1. Marc-André ter Stegen, 13. Claudio Bravo
Defenders: 3. Gerard Piqué, 14. Javier Mascherano, 15. Marc Bartra, 18. Jordi Alba, 21. Adriano Correia, 22. Dani Alves, 24. Jérémy Mathieu
Midfielders: 4. Ivan Rakitic, 5. Sergio Busquets, 6. Xavi Hernández, 8. Andres Iniesta, 12. Rafinha Alcântara
Forwards: 7. Pedro, 9. Luis Suárez, 10. Lionel Messi, 11. Neymar Jr.
Expected Starting Lineup (4-3-3):
Bravo; Alves, Pique, Mathieu, Alba; Mascherano, Rakitic, Rafinha; Messi, Suarez, Pedro
