The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly from PSG 1 - 3 Barça

Some quick thoughts on last night's win away to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of the Champions League Quarter-Finals.

The Good

  • By and large, a buzzing display from the Catalan side. At times they looked as sharp as they did at their 2011 height.
  • That Mascherano tackle!
  • A solid defensive turn from Montoya with great attacking (and covering) from Alba underlined the importance of Barca's attacking balance - something for Lucho to consider perhaps.
  • Seriously, how good is it to see Messi's striking partners scoring with ease?
  • Neymar is not only showing signs of returning to form (after only a temporary drop) but it looks like the Brazilian Neymar is beginning to complement the Barça Neymar.
  • Xavi shows yet again that he is critical to an in-form Barca.

The Bad

  • Xavi shows yet again that he is critical to an in-form Barca.
  • An unlucky goal conceded - sure it wasn't the best attempts at a clearance but it was just one of those goals.
  • People actually wanted Barça to buy David Luiz.

The Ugly

  • That Suárez-shaped hole in the middle of David Luiz' soul.
