Luis Enrique: "The best is still to come"

New, comments

Luis Enrique is a pretty damn happy coach right now.

The Barcelona manager is thrilled with the job his team did during the 2-0 win against Paris Saint-Germain, which confirmed Barça's spot in the UEFA Champions League semifinal. But as good as the Blaugrana have played lately, they can still do a lot better, according to the coach.

See what he said about that and other topics in his post-match press conference:

Good start

"We made a great start to the game and the players understood exactly what was wanted of them. Their attitude and the pressing they did is good news for us".

"In the first half our pressing was perfect and that needed all the players to contribute".

"We are good defending, whether that be pressing high up the pitch, closing down in the middle or defending in our area".

Objectives

"I’d like to think the best is still to come. That’s what the players have been working for since the start of the season, to be in the fight for titles. The league is difficult because there are other teams up there, there’ll be three other top teams in the Champions League semis and there’s another finalist in the Spanish Cup".

"Our objective is to be amongst Europe’s best -- that’s to be expected with the players I've got and the work they’re putting in. Now our objective is to be better than the team we play in the semi-finals".

"The fact that Barça have been in 8 of the last 10 Champions League semi-finals shows we are one of Europe’s top Clubs and what’s more we have our own individual style of play".
