We're down to the Final Four. FC Barcelona, FC Bayern Munich, Juventus FC and Real Madrid CF are the four teams that have made it into the Champions League Semi-Final, all four multiple winners of the most coveted club trophy in the world.
Historically, Barcelona have struggled against the three possible opponents in European competitions, having a losing record to all but Juventus, and even against the Italian Champion the record is tied with each team winning two games in six match-ups. But Juventus have only recently returned to relevance again in the Champions League. Barcelona have fared the worst against Bayern Munich, currently led by former Barcelona player and coach Pep Guardiola, highlighted by an absolute drubbing by Bayern two years ago at this very stage of the competition. Somewhere in the middle between Bayern and Juventus lie Real Madrid, an opponent that already faced Bacelona this season, in La Liga, with each team winning one game.
Each match-up would provide an excellent story. From the much anticipated return of Pep to Barcelona, with Barcelona looking to not only best their former coach, but also erase some of the sting from the 7-0 aggregate loss. To the El Clasico as well Juventus' first Champions League Semi-Final in 12 years during which time Barcelona played in eight.
The draw begins at 12pm CET, with live stream available on the UEFA website.
