Luis Enrique made four changes to the side that had won 2-0 at the Power8 stadium just a few days before. He opted for a fresh back four (Bartra and Mathieu), was forced due to Alba’s suspension to field a different left-back (Adriano) and played a different piece in midfield (Xavi). Getafe, who are suffering from a string of injury woes, also played an unfamiliar starting eleven.

After hitting Getafe for six, double-goalscorer Luis Suárez told the press that "we know that every team comes to try to give us a game, so we decided go out as strong as we could right from the start. We know we have big things to win, and it’s so important to have such a great connection between the team, fans and coaches."

That’s a Barcelona club record for an attacking trio, surpassing the 100 goals scored by Messi, Samuel Eto’o and Thierry Henry in the 2008/09 treble-winning season under Pep Guardiola.
