Luis Suárez was one of the stars of Barcelona's 4-0 win against Almería on Wednesday night, scoring a brace in what ended up being a hard-fought, yet comfortable win for the Blaugrana.
Against a team in such a bad form -- Almería has now won only two of their last 13 league matches --, it's easy to lose focus and take the win for granted, which could have led to a shocking and disappointing result. Thankfully, the players were engaged enough to keep fighting to break the opponent's defense, getting a good scoreline in the end, and maintaining a good lead over Real Madrid, with only eight matches left in the quest for the La Liga title.
As always, Suárez fought like a maniac, ran all over the place, and set the tone for a competitive Barça on the pitch. The creativity wasn't always there, especially because yesterday's group hasn't played together hardly ever, but the team kept their concentration and left Camp Nou with another W.
Following the game, Luisito commented on his team's demeanor, praising the effort and the result, while also looking ahead to the decisive games that will happen in the next few weeks:
"We know the games will be tough but if we face them the way we know how, we'll have a good shot at winning, because we're Barça.
If you don't concentrate throughout the game and have a bad attitude, the First Division isn't an easy place to get the three points ... we know we depend on ourselves to win the league and so we face every game the same way."
Starting on Saturday, Barça faces Sevilla, Paris Saint-Germain (twice) and Valencia, a stretch that could very well decide the club's fate this season. With the ideal starters, the good performances should return. But Suárez is right: if the team is serious about the games, like they were yesterday, they could get four wins out of those clashes.
