A Spanish court will decide whether football players can go ahead with their planned strike before the final two rounds of the season. The National Court said on Monday it was summoning the Spanish league (LFP) and the Spanish players' union (AFE) to "hear arguments" on Wednesday before ruling on the league's request that the strike be temporarily suspended.

Real Madrid were handed a fitness boost for Wednesday's Champions League semifinal second leg against Juventus as Toni Kroos returned to training on Monday, though Gareth Bale was restricted to individual gym work. Germany international Kroos was substituted after 25 minutes of Saturday's 2-2 draw against Valencia, leaving the pitch appearing to hold his thigh.

Real Madrid striker Javier 'Chicharito' Hernandez has not been named by Mexico coach Miguel Herrera in his 23-man squad for the Copa America in Chile next month. Hernandez is expected to instead feature in the Gold Cup in July, as Mexico prepare for two tournaments this summer.

Iago Aspas has no intention of returning to Liverpool this summer and plans to make his loan move to Sevilla permanent this summer, the forward has told ESPN FC. Aspas joined Liverpool in summer 2013 for £7.7 million (€9 million) from Celta Vigo, but he made just made six starts in all competitions during the 2013-14 campaign -- and scored just one goal in an FA Cup third-round win over Oldham.
