A hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo in a 4-1 win at Espanyol on Sunday night could not keep Real Madrid in the Primera Division title race. Madrid's win was rendered meaningless by Barcelona's victory at Atletico Madrid which saw the Catalan club crowned champions with one game of the season to go.

Cristiano Ronaldo moved ahead of Real Madrid legend Alfredo Di Stefano in the club's all-time goal-scoring chart on Sunday evening. Ronaldo, 30, scored yet another hat trick in the 4-1 win at Espanyol which moved him onto 310 goals from his 299 games, and the three-time Ballon d'Or winner is now closing in on record goal-scorer Raul who left the club in 2010 with 323 goals from 741 games.

David de Gea is still deciding on whether to leave Manchester United for Real Madrid | Sky Sports
Guillem Balague says reports in Spain claiming David de Gea has agreed a move to Real Madrid are premature but confirmed the Spanish giants are pursuing the Manchester United goalkeeper. The 24-year-old appears to be on the verge of exiting the club after United manager Louis van Gaal admitted he has no idea if his prized asset will at Old Trafford next season.

Navas frustrated with Real Madrid role -
Real Madrid goalkeeper Keylor Navas has voiced his frustration with his limited playing time this season. The Costa Rica international has made just 11 appearances in all competitions since arriving from Levante after playing a key role in his country's remarkable to the quarter-finals of last year's World Cup.

What Real Madrid need to change next season -
This season was supposed to be all about domination. Instead, it has ended in capitulation. "Nothing is 'sufficient' for Real Madrid," president Florentino Perez warned on Thursday. And nothing is exactly what the club has ended up with in the pursuit of the three titles handed out in May and June. So where did it all go wrong? Valencia came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw with Celta Vigo that keeps them fourth with a week of the Primera Division season to go. Visitors Celta, safe from relegation and playing without pressure, took an eighth-minute lead through Pablo Hernandez but Nicolas Otamendi's equaliser was the least Los Che deserved.

The Basques fell behind in the first half to two goals by Elche's player of the season Jonathas and their hopes of catching Malaga in seventh place looked doomed until Ager Aketxe pulled one back in the 80th minute. Mikel San Jose then grabbed an equaliser in the 87th minute, before Inaki Williams hit an injury-time winner.

Rayo climbed into 10th place when Adrian Embarba pounced with a 79th-minute winner at the Nuevo Arcangel. The Madrid club took the lead in the 22nd minute through Raul Baena, but Cordoba equalised early in the second half when Luso found the back of the net.

Substitute Gerard Moreno scored twice in the final eight minutes for the hosts and though Sergi Darder pulled one back in injury time, there was no way back for Malaga. They dropped to eighth in the Primera Division table as Athletic Bilbao staged a late rally to win 3-2 at Elche.

Borja netted the equaliser after 36 minutes to cancel out Fredy Hinestroza's opener just three minutes earlier and earn his side their first point since early April. The draw kept the visitors in the bottom three, but they are only two points from safety and know a win in their final game of the season at home to relegated Cordoba could keep them up.

Deportivo close to safety after beating Levante | Sky Sports Football
Defender Albert Lopo scored for the second game in a week to give the Galicians the lead on 20 minutes and then Juanfran wrapped up Deportivo's first victory in 15 matches with a late goal. This well-earned victory took Deportivo two points clear of the relegation zone with just one game to play, although that match is a daunting away trip to newly crowned champions Barcelona.

Youssef El Arabi broke the deadlock at Anoeta in the 73rd minute from a quick counter and Robert Ibanez appeared to wrap up the victory four minutes later. However, there was still time for Ruben Rochina to score a spectacular third goal from just beyond the halfway line, inflicting the heaviest home defeat of the season on David Moyes' side.

Almeria close to relegation after 2-1 defeat to Sevilla | Sky Sports Football
Vicente Iborra scored twice in the space of five minutes to give Sevilla a 2-1 win over 10-man Almeria and all but condemn the visitors to relegation from the Primera Division. Thievy Bifouma had given Sergi Barjuan's side the lead in the first half but their hard work was undone in the second half by Iborra's deadly strikes from inside the area, and their task was made even harder as Angel Trujillo was sent off with 15 minutes remaining.
