As it turns out, Barcelona will face Athletic Bilbao twice in the next three months, and both games will have trophies on the line.
With the Blaugrana winning the La Liga title on Sunday, it is confirmed that the Catalans and The Lions will face each other in the 2015 edition of the Spanish Super Cup that will be played in August in a two-game format, with one game being played on each team's stadium.
The Super Cup is played by the League and Cup champions of the previous season. Since Barça has already won the league and is also in the Copa del Rey Final, the second spot of the Super Cup belongs to the other Cup finalist, which is Athletic. This will be the first official tournament of the 2015/16 season in Spain, and it could be Barcelona's first trophy of the next campaign.
But before all of that, the two will meet each other at Camp Nou on May 30th for the King's Cup title. Barça has won both games so far, both in La Liga, 2-0 at home and 5-2 in Bilbao. If they win the third meeting, the Blaugrana will be one Champions League Final victory away from getting the Treble.
