Bayern Munich Twitter Account Attempts To Troll FC Barcelona, Fails Miserably

Yeah, this is kind of embarrassing

OK, we get it. In this day and age of football, the players earn more money in a week than a lot of us will earn in a couple of years and a direct reason for that is the incredible PR and marketing campaigns that are behind every successful club. But really, when did club Twitter accounts start posting stupid comments to each other? It was cringe-worthy enough when Chelsea FC and Paris Saint-Germain exchanged words on their official Twitter accounts before the former were so unceremoniously dumped out at the Round of 16 stage, yet somehow, Bayern Munich must have seen that and thought it would be a good idea to replicate the trash talk.

I mean, I guess it shouldn't be much of a surprise. To fall back on an infamous stereotype, the Germans don't have the greatest sense of humour -- so maybe they genuinely think that this is funny?

I don't know the exact rationale behind their post this morning, but clearly someone at the club thought it was a good idea to try and troll FC Barcelona by tweeting them a video of Thiago Alcantara doing some skillful things with a football in Bayern training, complete with the caption: "Are you ready for some of this?"

Cute.

But oh yeah, while we don't have Thiago anymore, we do kind of have these guys playing upfront...Lionel something or rather, and this Brazilian guy, captain whatshisname...their names escape me, though it turns out those guys are good at football too.

In other words, we see your Thiago, and we raise you a four-time FIFA Ballon d'Or winner and the finest Brazilian player on the planet, a player who, by the way, has scored nine more goals this season than any single member of the Bayern squad.
