Barcelona's form over the past seven matches is nothing short of extraordinary, or terrifying if you're an opposing player or manager. Seven wins, 23 goals scored and not a single one conceded; that's sensational in every sense of the word and somehow, someway, Real Sociedad are supposed to try and stop the Blaugrana tonight. Sure, they succeeded earlier in the season -- but this Barcelona are a different proposition entirely and after that defeat at the Anoeta, they're likely to be gunning for revenge too.
There is an upside if you happen to be a La Real fan though. Barcelona still have their UEFA Champions League semi-final, second-leg match with Bayern Munich to think about, and there is a chance that this could impact their performance. A small chance, but a chance nonetheless.
Instead, it's more likely that the Blaugrana are on the top of their game after such a morale-boosting win, and that Real Sociedad are merely our next victim as we ominously close in on a famous second treble. It was evident in midweek; the only side that can beat FC Barcelona are FC Barcelona themselves, because if we play as we can, there is clearly no side in world football that can stop us from claiming victory.
With the Camp Nou crowd behind us, Luis Enrique will be confident that his side can move closer still to the La Liga title and heap the pressure on Real Madrid ahead of their bumper clash with Valencia CF at the Santiago Bernabeu. What do you think? Will Barça extend their run of good form with another win?
