La Liga News: 22 June 2015; Las Palmas Earn Promotion, Mandzukic Has Juventus Medical

Las Palmas promoted back into La Liga after 13-year absence - ESPN FC
Las Palmas will be playing in La Liga next season for the first time in 13 years after beating Real Zaragoza on away goals in the Segunda playoff final -- 12 months after missing out in exactly the same fashion. Zaragoza were leading 3-1 following the first leg but Las Palmas turned things round on home soil to seal their return to the top flight with a 2-0 victory on Sunday night.

Valeron back in La Liga at 40 | Football Espana
Las Palmas’ former Spain international Juan Carlos Valeron has reflected on returning to La Liga – at 40. The ex-Deportivo La Coruna midfielder started his career with Los Amarillos but returned two years ago and started Sunday’s 2-0 victory over Real Zaragoza, which was enough to overturn a 3-1 deficit and see his side join Real Betis and Sporting Gijon in gaining promotion.

Real Madrid have already had a n initial bid for De Gea turned down, believed to be in the region of €18m. Representatives then travelled to the UK for a meeting at which they requested United set a price for the goalkeeper. Instead they met a counter-bid: you want De Gea, we want Ramos.

Croatia forward Mario Mandzukic is undergoing a medical ahead of his proposed move from Atletico Madrid to Juventus, the Serie A champions have announced. Mandzukic is set to join the Italian giants with reports suggesting the deal is worth 25million euros and will see him sign a four-year contract.

Jose Maria Callejon is again being heavily linked with Atletico Madrid, as he no longer fits in at Napoli. The wide attacker has long been a target for Coach Diego Simeone and would relish a return to Spain, where he played for their rivals Real Madrid. According to Mundo Deportivo newspaper, Simeone has specifically requested Callejon as a reinforcement for next season.

Bacca only available for release clause - Sevilla director
Any club interested in Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca will have to pay a reported £21.5 million release clause, according to club director Ramon Monchi. Bacca, 28, has been linked with a summer transfer after scoring 20 La Liga goals last season, with Liverpool reportedly interested in his services. However, Sevilla are determined to keep hold of the Colombia international, who signed for them from Club Brugge in 2013.

Spanish outfit Villarreal are interested in a double swoop for Atalanta midfielder Daniele Baselli and fullback Davide Zappacosta. The pair are currently on duty with the under 21 Italian national team at the European Championships, and enjoyed encouraging seasons with the Orobici.

Rami, 29, issued an ultimatum in May that he would leave the Rossoneri if Filippo Inzaghi was not sacked, having made just 21 league appearances under the Italian coach last season. Despite Inzaghi being replaced by Sinisa Mihajlovic last week, the French defender looks set to depart the San Siro with two years left on his contract.
