FIFA have informed Barcelona that bringing Denis Suarez back a year early from Sevilla would contravene their transfer embargo. Barca were under the impression that as Suarez was only on loan with Los Rojiblancos, they could reincorporate him into their squad despite being banned from making signings until January 2016.

The Sausalito Stadium in the Chilean city of Viña del Mar will host the quarter-finals of the 2015 Copa América between Argentina and Colombia. FC Barcelona and Everton FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of midfielder Gerard Deulofeu. The contract includes a release clause if Barcelona make an offer to Everton meeting certain requirements. FC Barcelona also have a right of first refusal if Everton decide to sell the Player.

Barcelona presidential candidate Jordi Farre has hit out at the sale of Gerard Deulofeu to Everton, saying: "They've destroyed La Masia." On Thursday, Everton announced they had agreed a deal to sign the player for €6 million. Deulofeu, who spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Goodison Park, has agreed a three-year contract with an option for a further season and will join on July 1.

FC Barcelona and Sevilla are about to play in the European Super Cup for the second time. In 2006, they were the respective winners of the Champions League and what was then known as the UEFA Cup (now the Europa League).
