On Sunday evening, Real Madrid opened their La Liga season with a disappointing 0-0 draw in Gijon at the hands of the youngest and least expensive squad of the tournament, Sporting. Some Madridistas could find solace in the fact that their team took 25 shots and dominated the match, especially in the second half. It's also fair to think that they probably deserved a victory at the end of regulation.

The France international, who began his career at Lyon, has been heavily linked with Arsenal. However, the 27 year-old forward has taken to Twitter to quell the speculation, saying he is happy to remain in Spain. "For all those clowns who want to make believe things at my fans. Man United target Gareth Bale not for sale at any price - ESPN FC
Real Madrid will not contemplate selling Gareth Bale even if Manchester United make a world-record bid for the player, sources have told ESPN FC. Sky Sports News has reported that United remain interested in Bale and it has been suggested they could make a fresh attempt to sign him before the transfer window closes.

Lucas Silva will reportedly join Marseille on loan from Real Madrid and play under new Coach and Madrid legend Michel. Michel, veteran of more than 400 games for Los Blancos, was recently appointed by the Ligue 1 club to replace Marcelo Bielsa, who resigned after the first game of the season.

Reports in France say Paris Saint-Germain will take Fabio Coentrao on loan from Real Madrid for a year before a permanent move. AS cites Le Parisien’s claim that Coentrao is close to PSG and will be used as competition for Maxwell this season, before taking over the left-back spot next season as Maxwell is expected to retire.

Denis Cheryshev could leave Real Madrid before the close of the transfer window with reports in Spain saying he’s bound for Valencia. Cheryshev spent last season at Villarreal and was reportedly told that this year he would get minutes at Madrid, and opted to stay at Santiago Bernabeu as a result.

Despite drawing interest from Sevilla, Fernando Llorente is now likely to stay at Juventus. The former Athletic Club striker was in poor form last season scoring just seven goals in 25 starts for Bianconeri last season, and following the signing of Mario Mandzukic was expecting to have his playing time severely limited this season.

Fiorentina midfielder Joaquin insists he wants to go home and join Real Betis this summer, making a plea to the Serie A club to release him as he is "not very well." Betis have made an offer for Joaquin, 34, but the Viola have yet to accept. They are still trying to convince the player to stay since coach Paulo Sousa is keen on keeping him.

Deportivo sign Rodriguez | Football Espana
Jonathan Rodriguez has signed for Deportivo La Coruna on loan from Benfica, who share his registration with Uruguay’s Penarol. Rodriguez completed a medical on Monday evening after an inconsistency in the contract was worked out and becomes Deportivo’s 14th signing of the summer.
