As the rumors of a Neymar transfer to Manchester United get even crazier, the club boss is not even thinking about it.
During an interview with a Catalan radio, Barça president Josep Maria Bartomeu was asked about the alleged secret negotiations with the Red Devils to sign the 23-year-old superstar, and he completely denied any possibilities of a potential deal. In fact, Pep Bartomeu wants the Brazilian to play for the Blaugrana until the end of his career.
"In a few months, we will talk about his renewal. He has to continue [at Barça] not just for three years, but for five or 10 more years. We don't want Ney to go, he is young and we want him to retire here.
That's actually a pretty encouraging quote. First, because Bartomeu didn't leave anything to the imagination; the phrase "we want him to retire at Barça" is not read between the lines, it's a clear statement. Second, he mentioned that the club will indeed hold extension talks with the player, which will be vital to secure that he stays happy and deservedly compensated for his hard work and talents.
Good job there, Prez.
