Rafinha Alcântara called up to Brazil national team

Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

One of the stars and revelations of Barcelona's new season is getting recognition for his good work.

Rafinha Alcântara, who had been named for the U-23 Brazilian national team, was called up by coach Dunga to play for the senior squad. The Blaugrana young midfielder will join his teammates Neymar and Dani Alves to play friendlies against Costa Rica and United States in September.

The news came after Chelsea's Oscar and Ramires had to be cut from the national squad due to injuries; to fill their spots, Dunga called Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho and Rafinha. Both have been great performers at the start of their club's seasons, and deservedly get a spot with the big boys of the Seleção.

Congrats, Little Rafa!
