Premier League title favorites Manchester City just got a lot stronger after signing a Barcelona target. The club announced on Sunday they have completed the transfer of Bundesliga superstar and Belgium international, Kevin De Bruyne:

A few weeks ago, Wolfsburg manager Dieter Hecking gave an interview in which he confirmed the interest and approaches from many clubs, including Barça, as we reported:

"Despite my esteem for Manchester City, I have to say that Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Barcelona have all expressed an interest in Kevin de Bruyne and there have been approaches for him.

"He will only leave if there is an extraordinary offer for him. I am not ruling anything out and we will listen to offers, but in reality we could allow him to leave for a huge offer."

Sources say there was indeed an approach from the Blaugrana to find out the asking price, but the teams never started real negotiations, especially because Barça was unable to sign him right now due to the transfer ban. But De Bruyne's move to City seemed like a foregone conclusion, and now he's officially a Citizen.

What do you think about this, Blaugranes? Is Man City a strong contender with this signing, and have Barça missed an opportunity to get a star?
