FC Barcelona News: 9 August 2015: Neymar Out For 2 Weeks, Squad Named For UEFA Super Cup

The first team medical staff at FC Barcelona has announced on Sunday that Neymar will be out for two weeks after being diagnosed with parotitis (mumps), despite the fact that he had previously been vaccinated against the disease. Therefore, the Brazilian striker will miss the European Super Cup final on Tuesday in Tbilisi, Georgia against Sevilla and also the Spanish Super Cup final which sees Luis Enrique's team take on Athletic Club over two legs on 14 and 17 August.

The hour of truth is upon us. Barça have played five pre-season matches so far this summer but now they face their first competitive fixture of the new campaign and what's more, there is a trophy at stake. Luis Enriue has named his squad for the trip to the Georgian capital of Tbilisi for the European Super Cup which sees them take on fellow La Liga side Sevilla. The coach has decided to take his entire squad with him for the fixture with the exception of Neymar for the chance to claim the first title of the season. The Brazilian has not been included in the party after having been diagnosed with parotitis (mumps) on Sunday. Before the list was released, the squad trained for the final time at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper ahead of the game on Tuesday.

For anyone who has already put down Tuesday's European Super Cup Final — in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi — between the sides as a foregone conclusion. Sevilla have become a welcome thermometer to the health of Spanish football.

Patrick O'Connell: New mural in Belfast to FC Barcelona saviour - BBC News

A former Manchester United captain from Dublin, credited with saving FC Barcelona from extinction, has been honoured in a Belfast mural. The mural has been painted as part of a campaign to erect a memorial at Patrick O'Connell's unmarked grave in London. Barcelona almost folded in the 1930s, but O'Connell, their manager, helped organise a money-spinning tour to Mexico and the US.
