FC Barcelona News: 2 September 2015; Banned Youngster Leaves for US U-17 Program, Barça Get New Insignias

After two days of rest following Saturday’s 1-0 win over Malaga, the Barça team returned to work on Tuesday. With 14 players away on international duty, the remaining first team players trained with the reserves at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

Barcelona left weaker without Xavi and Pedro -
his has been an atypical transfer window for Barcelona. Not only has the club been unable to register new signings because of the ban imposed by FIFA, but it also has also lost two of its most popular players with the departures of Xavi and Pedro. While those two have left, Arda Turan and Aleix Vidal have joined, although they will have to wait until January to make their Barca debuts.

American prospect Ben Lederman is leaving Barcelona's youth academy to join the U.S. Under-17 residency program, Goal's Ives Galarcep has learned. The 15-year-old moved to Spain with his family in 2011 hoping to become the first American to play for the Catalan club, but he has been unable to play in an official game for the youth team for over a year due a ban handed to Barca for illegal international transfers.

By the time the Turkish midfielder makes his debut for last season's treble winners, their season will have already taken shape, with a transfer ban meaning Turan cannot play until January. That could work to the 28-year-old's advantage, and an obvious lack of depth to Luis Enrique's side means Turan should be a breath of fresh air after four months of twiddling his thumbs.
