FC Barcelona News: 23 September 2015; Jordi Alba Ruled Out for Celta Vigo Game, Rafinha Surgery a Success

FC Barcelona are looking to make it five wins from five when they take on Celta Vigo on Wednesday at Balaídos (kick off 8.00pm CET) against a side which has picked up ten out of a possible 12 points so far this campaign. Luis Enrique expects a tough challenge against his former team on a ground which traditionally poses problems for the Catalans.

FC Barcelona flew on Wednesday morning to Vigo in northwest Spain, where they will face Celta later on in the evening in both teams' fifth La Liga game of the season. The team plane took off at 10.00am* from Barcelona–El Prat Airport and landed in Galicia at noon.

According to FC Barcelona's Medical Services team, wing-back Jordi Alba is suffering from neck soreness and has been ruled out for Wednesday's game in Vigo versus Celta. Alba's has been replaced on the squad list by the Brazilian defender Douglas, who has been medically cleared and activated for the game.

Barca was banned from registering new players by FIFA in 2015 due to irregularities in the signing of young players for their La Masia academy, but the Catalan club still brought in Aleix Vidal and Turan in the summer with a view to handing the pair their debuts in January.

According to the Club’s Medical Services, Rafael Alcántara, ‘Rafinha’ has been operated successfully on by doctors Ramon Cugat and Ricard Pruna following the cruciate ligament right knee injury that he suffered in the game against AS Roma.
