The injury bug is completely out of control. Now it has hit Barcelona's best player.

Blaugrana superstar and team captain Lionel Messi was forced to leave Saturday's game against Las Palmas with what appears to be a left knee injury. After running into the box and creating a chance, he shot the ball at the same time as an opponent defender did, and the impact was too strong for Messi's knee to take.

He attempted to stay in the game, but after just two minutes, he fell on the floor and asked to be substituted. In his place came Munir El-Haddadi.

It's impossible to know how serious this problem is, but we do know this is the first knee injury of his career. We'll continue to update you as more information become available.
