FC Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr, who are two of the three finalists for the award, will travel to Zurich on Monday and will be in attendance when the envelope is unsealed and the winner's name is called out. For Messi, this is the ninth consecutive year he has been named a finalist for the award, the most coveted individual prize in world football.

Morning workout before trip to 2015 FIFA Ballon d'Or Gala | FC Barcelona
On Monday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper FC Barcelona held their first training session since Saturday's 4–0 victory over Granada at Camp Nou. The team was squarely focused on their next encounter, which comes on Wednesday night at 9.00pm at RCD Espanyol in the second leg of the Copa del Rey last 16. Barça go into the return leg with a 4–1 aggregate advantage and will be looking to wrap up a berth in the quarter-finals.

Messi preparing for fifth Ballon d'Or -
Barring a huge surprise, Lionel Messi will win the Ballon d'Or for a fifth time Monday. The Argentine attacker has missed out on the honor to Cristiano Ronaldo in the last two editions, but is now preparing to reclaim his prize - and it could be his for the foreseeable future.

On 13 January, Barca take on rivals RCD Espanyol in the second leg of the Copa del Rey Round of 16 tie (9.00pm CET), with Luis Enrique’s side carrying a healthy 4-1 advantage from last week’s encounter at Camp Nou.

Athletic suffer double Barca blow | Football Espana
Garcia was forced off just half an hour into Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Sevilla, and Athletic promptly announced "a sprain to the medial side of his left knee, pending further tests and developments" on their official website. Los Leones' top goalscorer Aduriz, meanwhile, accumulated a fifth yellow card against Sevilla to force an automatic, one-game ban.

Galca agrees to Enrique chat | Football Espana
Espanyol boss Constantin Galca says he is open to Luis Enrique's suggestion of a chat before next week's Copa del Rey last-16 second leg against Barcelona. Enrique suggested speaking to Galca in the wake of Barca's 4-0 victory over Granada on Saturday, providing the Romanian was happy to return the favour, and he has now given the idea his approval.
