Barcelona returned from the international break with a bang, dominating Deportivo La Coruña en route to an easy 4-0 victory at Camp Nou on Saturday. The Catalans were great from start to finish, and almost all players gave very good contributions to the performance from the team and the result.
Below are the ratings of each of the 14 Blaugranas who played, as well as the team as a whole and coach Luis Enrique.
Marc-André ter Stegen (6) - Probably took a nap for most of the game. Solid when needed, though.
Javier Mascherano (7.5) - Looked comfortable as a wide center-back, made timely interceptions, played good passes. The Masche we love.
Gerard Piqué (8) - He does everything right at the moment. Everything.
Jérémy Mathieu (7) - A good performance from Mathieu! The formation change was perfect for him, because he didn't have to be a full-time CB or a full-time LB. He played both positions at the same time, and it clearly helped him. Very good game.
Ivan Rakitic (7) - Impressive return from injury. Solid all around.
Sergio Busquets (7.5) - The international break really helped Busi. This was nothing like the garbage game against Celta. Was just perfect in the minutes he was on the pitch.
Arda Turan (7) - Arda is now a key player on the team and does well regardless of the position. We're past the point of being super excited with every good performance from Turan. That's just the pattern now.
Lucas Digne (7.5) - Seriously challenging for the starting spot at left-back. Seriously.
Rafinha Alcântara (8.5) - His best performance in a Barça shirt for a while, truly amazing. The two goals were just the icing on the cake in a perfect afternoon.
Luis Suárez (7.5) - Hilarious miss early in the game, spectacular goal, very good in the rest of the first half.
Neymar (8.5) - Best Neymar we've seen all season apart from the Celtic game. He tries to run the game too much sometimes, but when he gets it right, it's a joy to watch.
Paco Alcácer (6.5) - The misses were bad, but his movement was fantastic. The goals will come soon enough.
Lionel Messi (8) - Leo is incredible. Dude misses almost a month, returns like nothing happened. Best damn player on the planet.
Denis Suarez (n/a) - Not enough minutes to deserve a fair grade.
Luis Enrique (8) - Great lineup, great formation, great substitutions, especially the Luis Suárez one at halftime.
The Team (9) - Best performance in La Liga this season, by far. Solid on defense, great with the ball.
Man of the Match - Rafinha Alcântara
