Neymar Jr. will sign on Friday an extension with Barcelona that will keep him at the club until 2021, it was announced on Monday.
Barça's deal with the Brazilian superstar was announced back in July, and while it took him three months to finally agree to sign the contract, he was already talking about the new deal for a few months. The Catalan club made the announcement to fend off interest from Paris Saint-Germain and three other teams, and things will finally be official this week.
There are two important things about Neymar's new deal: first, his salary will be the second-highest at the club, just below Lionel Messi. Second, and more importantly, the player's buyout clause will increase every year, until it reaches the €250 million figure in 2018, which forces a potential buyer to break their banks in order to take the player away.
Neymar stays, y'all. We can all be happy.
