Man of the Match? Not Messi...

Barcelona are just one point away from a spot in the Champions League knockouts after a 4-0 win over Manchester City on Wednesday, and while it wasn't a very good game, the Blaugrana beat Pep Guardiola again thanks to a hat-trick from Lionel Messi.

Below are the ratings* for the Barça players who took part in the game at Camp Nou, as well as the team performance and coach Luis Enrique. Feel free to comment below on the ratings!

*Starting today, this ratings post will include the community voting as well.

Marc-André ter Stegen: 8.0 (Community rating: 8.0)

Awesome save after a great individual run by Gundogan in the first half, and was once again very good with the ball on his feet when called into action. After watching Bravo, it looks like Barça chose the right goalkeeper for the future.

Javier Mascherano: 7.0 (Community rating: 7.5)

Very comfortable at right-back, didn't make any forward runs but his job was to contain Nolito, and he did it. Job done by the Sheriff.

Gerard Piqué: 7.0 (Community rating: 6.5)

Made a fantastic sliding tackle while clearly injured, and was very solid in his 40 minutes on the pitch. Three weeks without Geri will be really difficult.

Samuel Umtiti: 9.0 (Community rating: 8.5)

Monster. Just a monster. Don't need to say anything else.

Jordi Alba: n/a (Community rating: n/a)

Only nine minutes, impossible to grade. I actually discarded your votes as well. Can't grade a nine-minute performance that ends with injury.

Sergio Busquets: 7.0 (Community rating: 7.0)

Not his greatest game, but clearly a good one that helps him recover his usual form. Was flawless at center-back in the final minutes.

Ivan Rakitic: 6.0 (Community rating: 6.5)

Not bad, not good, not great, not horrible. Solid enough without any mistakes.

Andrés Iniesta: 7.0 (Community rating: 7.0)

Two assists enhance his final grade, but Iniesta wasn't at his best, that's for sure.

Lionel Messi: 8.5 (Community rating: 9.5)

He makes scoring a hat-trick look too easy, and he didn't even need to try that hard to get it. Nutmegged two people and won a penalty through spectacular dribbling. Other than that, quiet. Yeah, quiet.

Luis Suárez: 7.0 (Community rating: 7.5)

Nice assist (even though it was quite easy to make), the usual running and fighting, but nothing too special. Missed an easy chance in the first half.

Neymar: 7.5 (Community rating: 8.5)

Great goal, bad penalty, solid game all around. A little too quiet at times, but dedicated himself to defending and was good tactically.

Lucas Digne: 7.0 (Community rating: 7.5)

Very solid in place of Alba. A little too defensive at times, especially in the second half after the City red card. Could have done a better job going forward.

Jérémy Mathieu: 4.0 (Community rating: 4.5)

Since had a great game at the weekend, he had to screw up here. Mathieu is consistently inconsistent. No cigarettes this time.

André Gomes: n/a (Community rating: 6.5)

Not enough time to have a fair grade.

The Team: 6.5 (Community rating: 8.0)

This wasn't great, but it wasn't horrible either. There were negatives, especially in midfield, but it was solid enough to merit a result.

Luis Enrique: 7.0 (Community rating: 8.0)

Can't judge his substitutions too much since they were forced, but his tactics had a positive effect on the team.

Man of the Match: Samuel Umtiti (Community vote: Lionel Messi)

The hat-trick man would obviously grab the most votes, but there's nobody on the pitch who played as well as Big Sammy. Nobody.
