FC Barcelona News: 29 October 2016; Rafinha, Jasper Cillessen Return to Match Squad

MATCH PREVIEW: FC Barcelona v Granada CF | FC Barcelona
Saturday (8.45pm CET) brings the 1,500th competitive game at the Camp Nou. Third placed FC Barcelona host rock-bottom Granada CF, who have yet to win a game this season and have lost on all 22 of their previous visits to the stadium. But although history very much stacks the odds in their favour, the Catalans have a number of injury problems to contend with.

Barça have a number of injury concerns for today’s Liga fixture with Granada at the Camp Nou, so Luis Enrique has had plenty to think about before announcing his squad of eighteen for the match. All of Gerard Piqué, Andrés Iniesta, Jordi Alba and Jeremy Mathieu miss the game as expected, and Arda Turan has also failed to recover from a badly swollen foot in time and Aleix Vidal also sits the game out with adductor problems.

FC Barcelona have finished their final training session prior to the La Liga match against Granada. Luis Enrique's men welcome the Andalucian team, who are currently last in the table, to the Camp Nou on Saturday at 8.45pm CET. The team have trained twice, including today, in preparation for this game and the Barça coach worked with all the available first-team players as well as Marlon, Nili and Aleña from the second team.

Saturday's game between Barça and Granada will be the 1,500th competitive first team match at the Camp Nou. It has been just over 59 years since Barça beat Jaén 6-1 in the first ever league game at their new stadium on 6 October 1957. That was twelve days after the ground had been officially inaugurated with an opening ceremony and an exhibition match against a Warsaw XI.

Barcelona are preparing for Saturday's game against Granada without their captain Andres Iniesta. The midfielder was taken off in the first half of last weekend's incident-packed win against Valencia with knee ligament damage and will be out for up to eight weeks. He may not play again until the new year.

Luis Enrique spoke to the media ahead of Saturday's game against Granada and highlighted the inevitability of his players getting injured as "we try and avoid taking risks, but with our fixture list it is normal to have injuries." The Barça coach referenced the team's packed schedule which sees them take on Granada, Manchester City and Sevilla in the next week.
