Arda Turan wants to retire at Barcelona: "I belong to this jersey"

You Turkish guy, making us love you!

Remember that time when all Barcelona fans hated Arda Turan? That seems like a thousand years ago now that the Turkish midfield turned his Barça career around and became a very important piece of the squad.

Signed by the Blaugrana almost 15 months ago, Arda had to wait until last January to play, and he struggled A LOT to find his place on the team. Luis Enrique tried to use him as a central midfield with a very different role from the one Arda played at Atlético Madrid, and the Turan Experiment didn't seem to be working.

But the summer came, Arda kept working hard and believing in himself, and since the first game of preseason, he looked different. And better. And now he's scoring more goals than ever before, playing very good football as a winger and is even performing well when required to play at central midfield, thanks to a sky-high confidence and feeling comfortable in the Barça system.

Arda has had offers coming from China all year, and Borussia Dortmund showed real interested during the summer, but Arda didn't want to leave. In fact, Turan doesn't want to leave. Ever.

"Barcelona are the best team in the world. I feel I belong to this jersey. If I'm needed for just one minute, I'll play for just one minute. If I'm needed to stay on the bench then I'm going to stay on the bench. And I give everything I have when I'm in starting line-ups. My coach is always showing me that he's pleased with me.

"I want to end my career at Barcelona."

Keep doing what you're doing now, and you'll retire at Barça, loved by the club and the fans. We're starting to love you, Leonidas. Don't break our hearts.
