Gareth Bale scored two first-half goals as Real Madrid dispatched minnows Leganes 3-0 to record their first clean sheet in 11 matches. Bale struck his six and seventh goals of the season in the last seven minutes of the first half and Alvaro Morata added the game-clinching third in the second period to help lift Zinedine Zidane's side five points clear at the top of La Liga.

Athletic Bilbao are without a LaLiga win at Espanyol for 18 years following a goalless draw at RCDE Stadium. Bilbao may have beaten Genk 5-3 in the Europa League on Thursday night but they could not find the net here and had to settle for a second consecutive league stalemate.

Celta Vigo rally to leave Valencia just above the relegation zone - ESPN
Celta Vigo came from behind to beat Valencia 2-1 at Balaidos as the visitors slid further towards the drop zone. Dani Parejo's penalty had put Valencia ahead after 33 minutes, but Facundo Roncaglia levelled just before the break and John Guidetti headed in the winner with 14 minutes remaining.
