FC Barcelona Transfer Rumors: Update on Darijo Srna and Aleix Vidal

New, comments

Bartomeu said probably not. But it could still happen if the money is right.

Barcelona don’t want to spend money in the winter transfer window, but Luis Enrique does want to bring in Darijo Srna from Shakthar Donetsk, or so says Mundo Deportivo.

This could turn into another “Nolito case” in which the coach wants a player but the money is just not there in the budget.

The last hurdle which the Nolito transfer did not clear was the salary demands of the player. The same could be true this time.

Srna nets a very nice salary for playing in Ukraine, a salary Barcelona are not going to match.

So, Vidal would have to be moved on one way or another. His wages would have to be wiped completely off, at least for the remainder of the season or as long as Srna is in the team.

And Srna would have to accept to take the same salary Vidal did, that is, a lower one.

Even if all that happens, the transfer may still break down.

This is why Josep Maria Bartomeu, Barcelona’s president, said no movement in the winter transfer window is likely.

However, the possibility does exist.
