Xavi Makes Appearance; Catalonia Lose Friendly Against Tunisia on Penalties

Sergi Roberto and Jordi Masip also played in the 3-3 draw

The Catalan national team drew 3-3 with Tunisia before succumbing on penalties, in a friendly in which former FC Barcelona star Xavi made an appearance along with current players Jordi Masip and Sergi Roberto.

Xavi played for 64 minutes before being replaced by Oriol Riera, while Masip and Roberto started the match but only played one half.

Tunisia were up 2-0 within 30 minutes thanks to a brace from Youssef Msakni. Xavi assisted Gerard Moreno before the beak to pull one back before the halftime break, though in the 66th, Msakni completed his hat trick and made it 3-1 to Tunisia. But Catalonia got the draw thanks to goals from former Espanyol players Sergio Garcia and Joan Verdu.

Verdu and Victor Alvarez missed from the spot as Tunisia won the ensuing penalty shootout.
