The situation at right-back is up in the air as Aleix Vidal has been left out of the squad for Barcelona’s trip to play Osasuna.
Rumors are swirling as Shakhtar Donetsk have confirmed that FC Barcelona are looking into the possibility of signing veteran fullback Darijo Srna.
Vidal had a good match against Borussia Mönchengladbach as Luis Enrique gave him a glowing review in the post-match presser.
But was that enough for Vidal to return to the fold, or was it just a way to raise his value if he is sold in the winter transfer window?
Shakhtar coach Paulo Fonseca admitted Barcelona are tempted to sign the 34-year-old Srna: "I know of the interest," he said. "It is not for me to make this decision. We know the importance of Srna to our team, and we also know of his importance to the club. He's spent many years with us, though, and I sincerely hope he doesn't go."
Shakhtar’s owner Rinat Akhmetov has previously said that if Srna does decide to leave, he will be given the chance as a reward for his service to the club.
Vidal, for his part, remains committed, saying he would fight to remain at Camp Nou: "I enjoy each and every day I spend here. I've never said I want to leave and I will always give 1,000 percent to be able to be a success here."
