Alvaro Arbeloa has confirmed that he expects to leave Real Madrid at the end of the season. Former Spain right back Arbeloa has made 236 appearances for Madrid since joining from Liverpool in 2009, but has been limited to just four outings in La Liga this season.

It was reported by several media outlets in Germany that Ronaldo had purchased the favela, in the north of the Rio, for around 2m Euros. The stories claimed that, according to a property agency, Ronaldo had then given the favela back to its residents on a rent-free basis.

Spanish giants Atletico Madrid will reportedly make a bid to sign striker Keita Balde Diao at the end of the current season. The Spanish-born player, who is of Senegalese descent, is much admired by Atletico coach Diego Simeone, according to AS.

Granada 1-1 Espanyol - ESPN FC
An own goal by Miguel Lopes denied 10-man Granada victory over Espanyol. The relegation strugglers were leading through Ruben Rochina's strike, but the unlucky Lopes turned the ball into his own net eight minutes from full-time as the visitors secured a 1-1 draw.

Gary Neville's side, who currently sit in 12th, suffered a third successive defeat in all competitions following their 1-0 league defeat at city rivals Levante on Sunday. Neville branded his side "unacceptable" and "indefensible" after Giuseppe Rossi's 65th-minute strike handed La Liga's bottom club all three points at the Estadi Ciutat de Valencia.
