Real Madrid's Karim Benzema injures hamstring -
Karim Benzema is set for a spell on the sidelines after Real Madrid confirmed the striker sustained an injury to his right hamstring in their derby defeat to Atletico. Benzema was withdrawn at halftime on Saturday and reports in Spain suggest he could be out for between three and four weeks.

Some 40 hours after losing 1-0 to Atletico, Real's players were reunited on Monday in the Valdebebas training complex. The Real Madrid star was caught speeding on New Year's Day on his way to training, and refused to stop. Police said he was driving at 200km/h (124mph), double the speed limit. The fine is for refusing to stop when police told him to pull over. The fine for speeding has yet to be announced.

Las Palmas boosted their bid to avoid relegation by thrashing fellow Primera Division strugglers Getafe 4-0. An early strike from Willian Jose and a penalty from top-scorer Jonathan Viera put them in charge at half-time, and a double from midfielder Tana after the break set up the hosts' biggest victory of the season.
