Atletico Madrid stumbled in their pursuit of Barcelona for the Liga title after conceding two late goals to lose at relegation-threatened Sporting Gijon 2-1 on Saturday. Atletico looked set to maintain their challenge after Antoine Griezmann scored from a free kick in the first half.

Ze Castro's late equaliser earned Rayo Vallecano a 2-2 draw against 10-man Granada in a battle between two relegation-threatened teams in the Primera Division on Saturday. Youssef El Arabi had given the hosts an early lead at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes before Pablo Hernandez levelled on the stroke of half-time.

Real Sociedad 0-1 Las Palmas - ESPN FC
A first-half goal from Willian Jose proved enough to give Las Palmas a hard-earned 1-0 win at Real Sociedad and boost their Primera Division survival hopes. Willian Jose struck six minutes before half-time as the Islanders secured a fourth win in five games that has moved them five points clear of the drop, and just two points behind their opponents.

Nacho Camacho the hero for Malaga against Betis - ESPN FC
A bullet of a header from Nacho Camacho gave Malaga a 1-0 win at Real Betis. It looked like the game would finish goalless but Camacho popped up with his second goal in three matches to give Malaga back-to-back victories in La Liga.

Deportivo La Coruna end losing run with win over Levante - ESPN FC
It looked like it may end in a draw after Giuseppe Rossi cancelled out Luis Alberto's opener for the hosts but an own goal by the unfortunate Diego Marino, who had made a couple of decent saves during the game, saw Deportivo taste success for the first time in 14 matches.
