Zinedine Zidane could welcome back Marcelo and Luka Modric from injury when Real Madrid host Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday. Full-back Marcelo has missed Madrid's last two outings due to a calf problem, having previously struggled with an injured shoulder, while a foot complaint saw Modric miss Wednesday's La Liga win over Levante.

La Liga has informed Spain’s Anti-Violence Commission of offensive chanting during Real Madrid-Atletico Madrid and Real Sociedad-Malaga over the weekend. According to a report from the country’s Professional Football League (LFP), around 1,500 Los Blancos fans were heard chanting insults about Diego Simeone just six minutes into the game at the Santiago Bernabeu after they had made themselves identifiable by displaying the banner, ‘Fans RMCF’.

Real Betis moved further away from the relegation zone by beating Espanyol 3-0 and picking up their first away win of the season. Top-scorer Ruben Castro put the visitors ahead by tapping in from close range after 10 minutes, and German Pezzella increased their advantage midway through the first half, turning in a cross from the impressive Chelsea loanee Charly Musonda.

Granada took a step towards Primera Division survival after overcoming Sporting Gijon 2-0 at the Estadio Los Carmenes. A second-half penalty by Youssef El-Arabi and injury-time strike from Isaac Success separated the rivals in a relegation tussle that was controlled throughout by the home team.
