Sevilla attacker Kevin Gameiro has accepted a role as fourth forward for the coming season, says the newest report from Catalan newspaper Mundo Deportivo.
As we told you previously, terms of a deal involving Alen Halilovic have been floated. And the Gameiro-Barcelona connection has been talked about at least since last year.
Still, there seems to be nothing all that concrete yet, mainly preliminary talks, if anything.
Gameiro has speed and a good goal record for a Liga club, although the Frenchman would not be for the long term. He is soon to be 29, meaning his impact next season would have to be immediate to make a transfer worth it.
However, if he is willing to accept the role as an occasional rotation option behind "MSN" - Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez, and Neymar - he could at least provide an immediate upgrade to the bench.
Do you think this deal is likely? Let us know.
