Barcelona announce squad for El Clásico against Real Madrid

El Clásico is upon us! Barcelona and Real Madrid face off in the biggest football game on Earth this Saturday at Camp Nou, and coach Luis Enrique has picked his squad for the game.

There are no surprises on the list, which should reflect the starting lineup selection from the Asturian boss. Every single star is healthy, available and will be in uniform. The biggest news in the squad is the return of Rafinha Alcântara, who rejoins the team for the first time since his bad knee injury more than six months ago. It is unlikely that the Brazilian will be thrown back into the wolves in such a huge match, but his mere presence is exciting for fans.

This wouldn't be a Barça season without injuries, and there are a few for the Clásico: Adriano Correia, Sandro Ramírez and Jérémy Mathieu are hurt and unavailable, with Douglas Pereira, Aleix Vidal and Jordi Masip not on the list per coach's decision.

These are the eighteen men called up by Lucho for the big game:

Goalkeepers: 1. Marc-André ter Stegen, 13. Claudio Bravo

Defenders: 3. Gerard Piqué, 6. Dani Alves, 14. Javier Mascherano, 15. Marc Bartra, 18. Jordi Alba, 23. Thomas Vermaelen

Midfielders: 4. Ivan Rakitic, 5. Sergio Busquets, 7. Arda Turan, 8. Andrés Iniesta, 12. Rafinha Alcântara, 20. Sergi Roberto

Forwards: 9. Luis Suárez, 10. Lionel Messi, 11. Neymar Jr., 17. Munir El-Haddadi

Projected Starting Lineup (4-3-3):

Bravo; Alves, Piqué, Mascherano, Alba; Busquets; Rakitic, Iniesta; Messi, Suárez, Neymar

The match starts at 20:30 CET, and you can join us to follow and comment all the action.
