Talking about rumors surrounding football is a fun activity for many fans, maybe only second to actually watching football. In this new daily column, we'll take a look at the latest rumors floating around the rumor mill.

Key reminder: Rumors are just that -- rumors. None of this has been confirmed as legitimate news or fact, it's just circulating around the rumor mill. Remember, take it all with a grain of salt. And please don't yell at us. We're just reporting.

Rumors for the Day:

  • Barcelona have added another name to their list of young defender targets for this summer: Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen, currently on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Bayern Munich are also looking at the Danish international.
  • Since Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed a contract extension with Real Madrid until 2020, Manchester United have apparently given up on their efforts to bring back the Portuguese star to Old Trafford.
  • John Stones, one of the hottest prospects in Europe, is very close to joining Manchester City this summer, but Chelsea are prepared to join the race again with even bigger offers, even though they were rejected multiple times in the beginning of the last campaign. One thing looks certain: Stones will not be at Everton.
  • Speaking of Everton, there is strong speculation of manager Roberto Martínez being sacked at the end of the season if the Spaniard is unable to bring FA Cup success to the Toffees in the upcoming weeks.
  • With a serious knee ligament injury taking key midfielder Claudio Marchisio out of action for six to eight months, Serie A giants Juventus are currently searching the market for talented midfielders to bring in this summer, and Wolfsburg's Josuha Guilavogui looks like the favorite target at the moment.
If you have heard of any rumors that you'd like to add, feel free to post them in the comments section below. Just remember they are only rumors and not facts, so please take them as such. Have fun!
