The victory keeps FC Barcelona even on points with Atlético Madrid at the top of the La Liga table, though Barça hold a substantial advantage on goal-differential. The win also snaps Barça’s two-game home skid.

Luis Suárez is back on top of the La Liga goal scoring race. With four goals against Sporting Gijon on Saturday night, Suárez now has 34 on the season, also good enough for top spot in the race for the Golden Shoe, given to the top league scorer in Europe.

FC Barcelona manager Luis Enrique was clearly happy with the result — a second consecutive rout that gives the impression his team’s late-season slump is yesterday’s news.

Luis Suárez is having a fantastic week scoring wise. With four more goals in FC Barcelona’s 6–0 victory over Sporting on Saturday night at Camp Nou, the Uruguayan striker now has eight goals in his last two games, putting him at the top of the La Liga goal scoring list with 34 goals.

After going four matches without a win in the league, Luis Enrique are clearly in the mood to make up for lost time, as well as points. Aside from the goals, there were plenty of other interesting numbers that came about from the latest big win.

All available first team players took part in the session, as did Barça B player Borja López who has been training with the group throughout the week. The players will now have two days of rest before attention turns back to preparing for league obligations. The next match is at the Benito Villamarín against Real Betis on Saturday.
