Sergio Busquets is reportedly losing patience with delayed contract talks, and that could be a problem

There is something going on outside the cameras and the stardom and the crisis and the blowout wins and the 'MSN' show that could become a huge problem for Barcelona in a very near future.

According a report from Diario Sport, defensive midfielder Sergio Busquets, one of the best football players on the planet, is unhappy with the delay from the Barça board about his contract extension talks, and he and his agents could be open to consider some options.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu made a promise to Busquets that his deal would be addressed as soon as the club finalized Neymar's contract extension. That has been done more than two months ago, and (always according to the report) Busi's staff was never contacted since then to start new negotiations.

Furthermore, Bartomeu also told all agents that there will be no talks of extension this summer as the club will focus on new signings instead of new contracts for the current players. That announcement was also addressed to Busquets and his entourage, and that really upset them. Sergio wants to be one of the highest earners on the club, along with the 'MSN' trio and other stars like Gerard Piqué and Andrés Iniesta.

Busquets is completely fine with a change in his current deal instead of an extension. He understands the club is in financial trouble and signing a new four- or five-year contract would commit a giant salary to the club's accounts, which is not ideal at the moment. But Bartomeu is (reportedly) not even interested in altering the current contract, another upsetting move for Busi's people.

This is a key story for the next few months. Luis Enrique's entire system depends on Busquets, and if he's lost because of a lack of communication over a few more millions on his contract, we're in big trouble. Even bigger than Busi's new salary.
