The cool part about being a Barcelona sporting director is that you can watch great football and work at the same time.
Blaugrana official Robert Fernández will attend the UEFA Europa League semifinal first leg between Villarreal and Liverpool on Tuesday at the El Madrigal Stadium, home of the Yellow Submarine. Robert will be there to watch what promises to be a fantastic match, for sure, but he's doing his job as well.
According to reports from Spain, Robert and some of his scouts will watch Villarreal youngsters Denis Suárez and Eric Bailly, as well as Philippe Coutinho, Liverpool's Brazilian playmaker. All three players are reportedly shortlisted as potential signings for the upcoming transfer window, and seeing them live in the same stadium is definitely a great opportunity for the Blaugrana director.
Another player linked with Barça present in this match is Villarreal striker Cédric Bakambu, who is also strongly rumored to be closing in on a deal with Atlético Madrid. Liverpool coach Jürgen Klopp is also reportedly interested in Bakambu and Bailly, which means there will be plenty of scouting going on this Thursday.
