As Atletico Madrid sat with their feet up, job done having hammered Real Betis 5-1 on Saturday while rarely stepping out of their comfort zone, they could not have hoped for a better outcome as they watched El Clasico.

LEAKED: James Rodriguez could cost Real Madrid €90m -
A leaked document from whistle-blowing website Football Leaks has revealed that James Rodriguez could cost Real Madrid up to €90 million (£72m). The Colombia international moved from Monaco to Santiago Bernabeu in 2014 for an initial €75m fee, but the deal also included a number of additional clauses that could see the Ligue 1 club receive an extra €15m.

Villarreal hit back to beat Eibar - ESPN FC
Villarreal strengthened their grip on fourth place as they ended their Primera Division winless streak with a 2-1 come-from-behind triumph at Eibar. It had looked as if the Yellow Submarine's run of league games without a victory was going to stretch to five after they fell behind in the 22nd minute to Ander Capa's deflected strike.

Marcelino annoyed by Musacchio injury | Football Espana
Marcelino made no secret of his disdain after Mateo Musacchio returned from Argentina duty with an injury to rule him out of Villarreal’s trip to Eibar. Musacchio, who had only recovered from a fractured fibula and dislocated ankle in December, was confirmed to have torn a muscle in his thigh while representing his country last week, despite not playing for Villarreal since February 28 with a separate muscular ailment.

Sevilla's incredible run at home finally came to an end as they were beaten 2-1 by 10-man Real Sociedad, halting a run of 13 straight Primera Division wins. Markel Bergara headed the Basques in front after just two minutes and Grzegorz Krychowiak's own goal doubled their advantage before the break.

Athletic Bilbao 1-1 Granada - ESPN FC
Athletic Bilbao's hopes of challenging Villarreal for the fourth Champions League spot were derailed as they conceded a late equaliser to draw 1-1 with relegation-threatened Granada. Inigo Lekue put the dominant hosts in charge in the 27th minute and top scorer Aritz Aduriz missed a penalty on the stroke of half-time.

Controversial penalty helps Malaga draw with Espanyol - ESPN FC
Malaga benefited from a contentious penalty decision as they battled out a 1-1 draw with Espanyol at Estadio La Rosaleda. The visitors complained heartily when referee Juan Martinez pointed to the spot following a challenge by Victor Sanchez on Juanpi in the box.
